On December 17th, 2006, I participated in my first Naragansett Bay Wheelmen Club Ride. I had joined the club in July, but due to scheduling conflicts, I was not able to join in on any rides.
I was surprised at how many people showed up for this mid-December Massachusetts based ride (The club is based in Providence I believe).
I kept right up with the head of the pack until about 20 minutes in when we hit our first significant hill. I dropped back pretty quickly as the others just powered their way up the hill.
After this I was pretty much alone. That was ok as I had to turn off onto the 14 mile route anyway. I had a commitment in the early afternoon that prevented me from doing the 28 mile ride.
So right before I get to downtown Medfield, my Garmin eTrex Legend GPS device is flashing "Low Battery". It powered off just before I got to the next convenience store. That is why my stats on martinator.motionbased.com are a little screwy.
